A Look in the Mirror

I was talking to someone about the governance of Arab countries. He spoke of the Arab street. He spoke of how alien it was to have thousands of peoples pouring into demonstrations about such things as, oh, say, cartoons of the Prophet. This was a great distinction between THEIR countries and our country: this lack of control. Our democracy is the best and, sad to say, perhaps not suited to Arabs due to their lack of self control. What a gelding of Memory! Did he forget the fall of the Berlin Wall? Did he forget the crowds of Eastern Europeans claiming their freedoms? Did he forget Kent State?
