Inability to Juggle

Just getting along everyday involves a lot of juggling, and it is a hard trick to master. With our budget problems, we essentially have two camps: balance the budget with no new taxes, and balance the budget with taxes.

At no time do we stop this particular juggling trick and throw in a differently colored ball: the one which explains why taxes are necessary in one application or unnecessary in another.

Today I read that the House wants to ax Transportation Funding. I would think a large portion of this goes to the States for Federal and local roads, plus airports, shipping, and any other means of transport.

When it come to Interstate and International Commerce, it is the Federal Government which is best situated to deal with Transportation. Hence, the Government requires taxation for the revenues to fund this work.
There is a need for taxation. If not, then abolish the Federal Government and return to governance by the British Monarchy.
