Why Freedom?

following a conversation with Baysage on       Sparky

Why is freedom so important? Beyond freedom of restraint, that free-range imperative of living creatures - cruelly abrogated by our species against those animals we raise for food - why are other freedoms so important?

Memory makes it so, that parasite of intellect that forces us to return to things past. Memory is the great engineer of a future we navigate based on the science of history, and Memory is the dictator of a future dogmatically constrained to fit the obscure science of history.

Without freedom, intelligent entities would crumble under the accumulated burden of fear, of hate, and of obsession.
