John McCain's Gas Tax Holiday is/was such a good idea, that the LA Times has a story on it. But as soaring fuel costs have prompted Americans to drive fewer miles, the fund is dwindling... ...To help shore up the Highway Trust Fund, some observers propose increasing the gas tax, which has remained relatively steady at 18.4 cents per gallon since 1993. I think a National Infrastructure Czar should be appointed and a new Leviathan Department of Infrastructure and What-Not be created, costing millions and millions, most of which could have been spent of building infrastructure itself. Remember how I have said that this Administration has not properly administered anything on its watch? How there has been no savings for investment in infrastructure? Chickens...home...roost.
