Stephane Hessel

Book Title:
Indignez-vous!   or   A Time for Outrage

"Indifference is the worst of all attitudes: to say I can not do anything, or I am tied up in other matters. [...]
Again, we are called to a peaceful revolution against the means of Mass Communication, which offer nothing on the horizon for our young people except Mass Consumption, contempt for those who are weaker and  for  culture, a general forgetting (of the past) and limitless competition of all versus all. .."

M. Hessel was a member of the French Resistance in World War II. Of that he says:

...motif de base de la Résistance, c’était l’indignation.

"...the very basis of the Resistance was Indignation."

Our problems are world wide problems. We are in an historical period that began more than 100 years ago - remember William Jennings Bryan's opposition to keeping the Philippines as a colony because of the real danger of exporting domestic jobs overseas? The phenomenon of Globalization in 1900 pre-dating our experience of Globalization by 80 years?
Our struggles are those of our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. They are the struggles of all the peoples of the world. Catch Stephane Hessel and open your eyes to the world of Indignation at a world out of control.
