Tilting At Saddam
I had a post recently ( Murderous Quixotes http://fatherdaughtertalk.blogspot.com/2015/01/murderous-quixotes.html ) where I used he above illustration. The post was about how our war on terrorists, specifically Al Qa'ida, we have managed to spend trillions attacking non-Al-Qa'ida peoples, while only spending billions on attacking Al Qa'ida peoples.
The idea was that we were modern day Quixotes, and we thought that we saw Al Qa'ida in the windmills, so we attacked... but they were not Al Qa'ida after all and they had no weapons of mass destruction... and so on.
I never noticed how much the windmill resembled Saddam Hussein.

Skipjack's Nautical Living
I have had this display on my dashboard for the past 5 years.
I think I've proved my point.
And I do not like Skipjack anymore. He has become arrogant.
I feel like Squidward does when Sponge Bob Squarepants is Employee Of The Month again for 52 months running.

The Decline And Fall Of Blogger
Every time I post, there are numerous small errors reported. They do not seem to stop things, but they really should not be there is a properly run system.
I get the distinct impression Google does not care too much about Blogger anymore.
I was talking to Baysage ( http://whatpowderfingersaid.blogspot.com/ ) about it, and he noticed the glitches too. They have been going on over a year now, I think.
I guess it is time to get a copy of your blog as backup and be ready for the shut down that will occur with the speed and rapidity of the assassination of Google Reader.

Turing Tests For Bloggers
I have just encountered the most difficult "Please prove you're not a robot" test I have ever seen !
One of the many variations I saw was the word "Geâts" with a bloody circumflex on the "a"!
Since this was Beowulf's clan, I thought it grossly unfair to be coupled with a undecipherable second word.
(furthermore, I had purchased the cheap computer whose keyboard did not have the European accented vowels! My next laptop will even have a qamets-hey on it.)
I think http://thetrouserpress.blogspot.com/ makes up his own Turing tests. I think I shall start to do my own.

Blogs Of Note
I see that Skipjack's Nautical Living (http://skipjacksnauticalliving.blogspot.com/) is a Blog of Note yet again.
I believe this is the twentieth time.
It may be time to retire the pseudo-award.

Comment Verification
I am thinking of turning off the Comment section verification business: that extra bit that is supposed to prove that one is not a robot and that we do not, after all, live in a computer simulation, or whatnot.
I can barely read the things. I mean, what's the point of trying to write a comment that approaches "intelligent sounding" and then have the whole thing go to a data sink somewhere, because one cannot make out the letters-run-together or the numbers-fuzzy-and-dim?
