Another of the present day idiocies that parade as economic science is the assertion that tax cuts create Jobs.
I was a small business owner. Tax cuts usually are
(1) not all that large,
(2) not guaranteed to last for long term.
They are marginal increases in profits. Absolutely no jobs are created nor is the physical plant increased based on such things, nor can they be planned on this money. The extra money is banked or becomes a Bahama vacation.
Of course, it is different for large companies. But we always hear the other economic truth that small business is the area primarily efficient in job creation. There is no rhyme nor reason to anything Celebrity-Conservatives say anymore: they sound-bite the hand which feeds them.

Me too. Once ran a small business, still an owner. You're absolutely right. Indeed on a recent walk exactly these same thoughts ran thought my head. Small potatoes, those tax cuts. What causes small business to hire is a surge of business when you can't get the job done. Indeed times of growth are just as anxious as times of decline -- but I'd rather be anxious about future delivery than future layoffs...
It is a lie to which we have become accustomed... in this Season of lies in the Year of Falsehood... in the Times of this Great Deception.
"Tax cuts create Jobs"…that makes me think of the Book of Job.
Montag, hei. I am here to tell you that the fair Signs (blessed be her name and house, as yours) is fairly bursting with the cliffhanger which has been left at her house... hasten therefore thither before she doth quite explode. Please.

It is good to have you back, Anna.
It does remind one of the Book of Job, so please tell me that you only meant the appearance of the words were similar, and there no no deeper nor more arcane prophesy involved...
there is no reference to our future trials by Heaven and Hell.
I left Signs ( or Lady Insignia as she was called when she attended the royal wedding a month or so ago...) a full two of my best, and it will take a while for her to digest the full import of your dizzy plunge into the past tense.
Festina Lente as Cicero said about slow motion writing: make haste... slowly!
Hmmmmmmm. I think you'll find the said Lady is becoming less and less of Lady Patiencia the longer we two dally here. Hie thee thither, good Montag - there's Lente and then there's just tooooooo Lente.
And thank you, it is very nice to be back. Thankfully, my gift of prophesying has been done away with, along with my fading knowledge and um silenced tongue. So yes, I only meant that I sort of read "tax cuts create Jobs" as a visual likeness-appearance thing. Having done so, however, I went to look a bit at the Book of Job (admittedly to find a clever quote - happily for everyone, I put away this idea without carrying it out). I haven't been following American politics enough lately to know whether it's looking like all your servants and sons and daughters are going to be um done away with because of a bet between the two big guys. Um.
(There's been enough trouble in the works here though to suggest that bad times are on their way.)
I think I'll shut up again now...

I checked with the butler at Lady Insignia's, and he says that he has not seen one word of yours - much less five whole words strung together - to follow my "masterful insertion of a tasteful comma." (his words)
The butler - whilst his taste in matters literary is obviously flawless - is a blind fool. Here, fair Montag:
...when the dog-days of August...
are there words there inserted, all five of them.
I ride under many guises, I do - as you should perfectly well know! Now please come and take the story somewhere…please. I'm dying to know what "it" was that happened one day towards the end of summer, when the dog-days of August…
