Not hardly.
I have one tablespoon each of Brer Rabbit and Plantation molasses each morning. One tablespoon of Brer Rabbit has 25% of the daily requirement of Calcium and Iron, lots of Magnesium and less Potassium; Plantations has 17% of the Potassium and 20% of Calcium and Iron and lesser amounts of Magnesium. Take a vitamin tab and I'm done.
This does not even take into consideration molasses in ginger snap cookies and gingerbread and other homely uses.
Read the labels. I have had to read quite a few as I chased down a store carrying my good old Brer Rabbit. I found it at Busch's Market. I told them not all molasses are the same. They said "Uh-huh, uh-huh" and smiled.
