Once again the power has gone off in Montgomery County, Maryland. It goes off when there is snow, ice, rain, or wind. Sometimes it just goes off. It happens more than 12 times a year easily. What goes through the minds of a county government that can not come to grips with such a problem? What do people think infrastructure is and what is important, especially in winter?
Montgomery County is a rich county, and yet it seems resigned to wander on like Rome in its sunset years. For this is what Rome was like in its decline: services not performed, aquaducts not being repaired. Exactly what do people value anymore?
