Resist Guns !

James Porter, Gun Radical

Reading now this morning in Yahoo News:

HOUSTON (AP) — The National Rifle Association kicked off its annual convention Friday with a warning to its members they are engaged in a "culture war" that stretches beyond gun rights, further ramping up emotions surrounding the gun control debate.
NRA First Vice President James Porter, a Birmingham, Ala., attorney who will assume the organization's presidency Monday, issued a full-throated challenge to President Barack Obama in the wake of a major victory regarding gun control and called on members to dig in for a long fight that will stretch into the 2014 elections.

It is not the NRA members that are not aware, it is the people who thought they could negotiate with guns rights groups to come to an agreement about gun safety that did not realize that there is a Kulturkampf, a culture war.The new NRA president has put the NRA into the role that the Bolsheviks played in the jockeying for power before the Russian Revolution: they are pure radicals, and everyone who is not a radical is not one of their number.

In other words, me and many others. We thought there were misunderstandings about the Second Amendment, or there were other pesky matters about guns that we could get a grip on.

There is no common ground now between the NRA and its members and the rest of the people who want some sort of sane gun control. There just isn't. The sooner you are aware of it, the better. When your family members or friends are shot by gun dudes and gun dudettes by accident, no one is going to make it better for you in the Weapon Society, so you had better set your face against it now.

There is no compromise with radicals.
I think I am finally beginning to understand what is wrong with this country. We have been asking ourselves for years. What's wrong is trying to come to an agreement with radicals who refuse to come to any agreement.

They have wasted our time on all topics:  guns, budgets, wars, civil liberties... the list is endless.

Resist !

As far as the Supreme Court ruling on the Second Amendment, Justice Roberts has his decision, now let us resist it and change it !
