Alibi Circles

Watching the pepper spray videos; the justifiers of pepper spraying have said that the police were encircled and were trying peacefully to make the line of huddled people give way. The videos I see show the spraying then the camera pans right and I see more police approaching behind the huddled people.

So if the pepper police were encircled by the protestors, then the protestors were obviously encircled by more police. They, in their turn, may have been encircled by more students, who were again in turn boxed in by more of the riot squad.
