Watching CBS Sunday Morning and a piece on arty cuisine: food that appeals to the eye and - I assume - to the palate. What I do not understand switching the emphasis from one sense - that of taste - to another - that of sight.
Certainly the visuals of food is important, but it seems that sight has trumped taste.
Perhaps I am wrong, but I look simple tastes with little nuancing, maybe some sprigs of rosemary like I put on pita bread.
Of course, there was a mention of the outrageous price of truffles being used, which is something I have as much critical respect for as I do for film reviews that tell me who was the "winner over the weeked" at the box office.
