Some Tibetan monks have immolated themselves in protest. These acts have been condemned as extreme terrorist acts, although such a charge obviously shows consternation and lack of understanding on the part of the authorities.
In 1963, Thich Quang Duc, a Vietnamese Buddhist monk, burned himself to death to illuminate the tragedy of what was beginning in Vietnam.
Force and arms did not long turn aside the flow of history. It will be the same now. Do we recall Muhammad Bouazizi? Even street vendors may change the course of history when their will and determination is pure and strong.
