In referrence to my post of yesterday : (http://fatherdaughtertalk.blogspot.com/2011/03/magic-garbage-bullet-part-two.html), someone observed that young mathematics prodigies may be the rule and prodigies of "caring and charity" may be the exception is due to the fact that "mathematics" is - in a sense - inborn, whereas "caring" is a more complex set of behaviors gained over time.
Hmmm. I deny it. I say that the geniuses and prodigies of Caring and Nurture and Ecological Husbandry that are born to us are taught to deny their emotions and feelings, and to hide them away from view. Why do you think some people call ecological activists "tree huggers"? It is a determined attempt to embarrass and marginalize the emotional connection with the Creation of God.
Some of these "touchy-feely" types may even be gay. Those are the ones we harry from pillar to post, often beating or killing them. No matter, our society has always celebrated the Exploiter and demeaned the Carer and Mentor. You do not see any laws being passed to strip bargaining rights from the Exploiters' Union and Cabal!
No. I say that we have geniuses born who are prodigies of Charity. We deny them their birthright and force them to spend years following empty roads to nowhere before the lucky ones might rediscover their true calling.
