... and the prequel, Prometheus, so bad?
Alien just tells a story.
Prometheus tries to have meaning, and to make sense of a previous story. It is a self-important bunch of crap. The next film will probably be crap.
Narrative is not crap.
Prometheus has Ego.
Alien just Is.
Alien has Zen; Prometheus is a corporative intelligence as defined by the US Supreme Court:, trying desperately to exercise its right to free speech. It can hardly put two thoughts together, much less attempt free speech.
Prometheus is just marginally better than Alien Versus Predator.
